Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Anges S.D.A. Grande Champagne Cognac
Cognac (Grande Champagne Premier Cru) | 40% ABV (80 Proof) | 750 mL | France
Process & Profile
Pierre Ferrand Sélection des Anges (S.D.A.)—short for “Sélection des Anges,” a nod to the Angel’s Share—is a luxury Grande Champagne Cognac built from long-aged eaux-de-vie selected for deep concentration and harmony. It’s known for an opulent, pastry-and-floral opening that evolves into darker notes of chocolate, spice, and polished oak. The style is rich and expressive, but still refined, making it an ideal slow-sipping Cognac for special occasions.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Jasmine tea, honeysuckle, walnut, oaky vanilla, chocolate, subtle curry-like spice
Palate: Candied fruit, saffron spice, ginger, honey, nutmeg, cedarwood
Finish: Very long, concentrated, and elegant with lingering spice, floral tones, and mature oak
What Makes It Special
Crafted exclusively from Grande Champagne (Premier Cru) fruit, prized for elegant, age-worthy Cognac
“S.D.A.” selection emphasizes deep maturity and concentration rather than a light, youthful style
A signature profile that moves from pastry-like sweetness and florals into chocolate, spice, and polished oak
Built for sipping neat, gifting, and collectors who want a true top-tier Grande Champagne bottle
How to Enjoy
Best enjoyed neat in a tulip glass. Let it rest a minute, then revisit as it opens—this Cognac expands with air. If you want to soften the intensity and lift more florals, add a few drops of water. It also pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, roasted nuts, and after-dinner desserts.
