Lagrimas Del Valle El Sabino Tequila Reposado 2023 is a vintage, single-ranch tequila that embodies the essence of its unique terroir near Teuchitlan, a region renowned for the Guachimontones—circular pyramids that are a testament to the area’s rich cultural heritage. This additive-free tequila reposado is a celebration of the distinctive characteristics of the Blue Weber Agave from the El Sabino ranch, matured to perfection and capturing the spirit of the land from which it originates.
Terroir and Its Impact: Adhering to the belief that every piece of land imparts unique qualities to its produce—a concept deeply rooted in the tradition of French winemaking—Lagrimas del Valle extends this philosophy to the cultivation of agave and the crafting of tequila. Each vintage, starting with 2022, is a reflection of the singular attributes of a chosen “Rancho Unico.” For El Sabino Reposado 2023, the terroir of the ranch contributes to a tequila that stands apart in both flavor and aroma, showcasing the intricate complexity of agave nurtured in this distinctive environment.
Tasting Notes: El Sabino Reposado introduces itself with the enchanting aromas of candied orange peel and richly cooked agave, subtly accented by cinnamon and brown butter. On the palate, it unfolds with the lushness of stone fruits and the deep sweetness of cooked agave, complemented by warm vanilla notes. The reposado is matured for 3 months in Ex-Bourbon Barrels, lending it a rich finish that is both smooth and enduring.
Vintage and Maturation: Emphasizing the individuality of each vintage, El Sabino Reposado 2023 is harvested from a single field, allowing the terroir’s influence to fully express itself in the tequila. The brief maturation in ex-bourbon barrels enhances the agave’s natural flavors, adding layers of complexity and a soft, enveloping warmth that invites further exploration.
