The name “2XO”, which stands for “Two Times Oak”, reflects its unique blending process, where Dixon re-barrels his hand-selected whiskey into new charred oak barrels. The American Oak blend of this series is notable for its bold notes of vanilla and caramel, which arise from the secondary addition of highly charred white oak introduced toward the end of maturation. These sweeter flavors create a complex balance with the spice notes originating from the rye in the mash bill.
