The GlenAllachie 19 Year Masters of Wood Ex-Solera Sherry Cask Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the second release in the distillery’s premium Masters of Wood series, created under the direction of Master Distiller Billy Walker. The whisky initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels before being transferred into exceptionally rare Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry casks that had held Sherry within traditional solera systems for more than 55 years. This extended cask program develops a deeply layered Speyside single malt filled with dark fruit, mocha, honey, treacle, cocoa, and warming spice.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Brandied plum, intense mocha, honeycomb, caramel snaps, molasses tart, and rich cocoa.
Palate: Plum syrup, treacle, warmed heather honey, black cherries, mocha, and brandied orchard fruits with crystallized cinnamon and ginger.
Finish: Long and rich with lingering dark fruit, cocoa, warming spice, and Sherry-driven sweetness.
