Maturation Process:
Primary Maturation: The journey begins in American oak barrels sourced from Kelvin Cooperage, followed by aging in Spanish oak Oloroso Sherry butts from the esteemed Antonio Páez Lobato cooperage. This foundational aging process imbues the whiskey with a depth of flavors and aromas, setting the stage for its remarkable complexity.
Secondary Maturation: The whiskey is then refined for a minimum of four years in first fill red wine casks from the prestigious Pomerol region of Bordeaux. This careful selection of casks ensures a unique finish that enhances the whiskey’s character with unparalleled elegance.
Tasting Notes:
The bourbon casks contribute rich hints of vanilla and oak, creating a warm and inviting foundation. This is beautifully complemented by the Oloroso sherry casks, which weave in exquisite notes of dried fruits and spice. The journey culminates with the Pomerol Bordeaux casks, which impart delicate and subtle notes of currants, enriching the whiskey with an intense and full-bodied character.
