From the renowned Tequileña distillery in the iconic town of Tequila, Jalisco, Master Distiller Enrique Fonseca crafts this exceptional añejo, using agave primarily sourced from his highland hometown of Atotonilco el Alto. This additive-free tequila boasts a unique aging process: First matured in French oak barrels previously housing Cabernet Franc from France’s Loire Valley for over a year. It’s then transferred to toasted American white oak barrels, which once contained Canadian whiskey or Tennessee rye whiskey, further enhancing its complexity. With its intricate fusion of oak and agave nuances, this tequila clinched a Gold Medal and a commendable 91 points at BTI 2013.
